Branka Dokić is a Croatian children’s book author born in 1982. She currently resides on the island of Krk. Branka is a mother of two children. Her writing often reflects her life philosophy, emphasizing the importance of embracing both the beautiful and challenging aspects of life to discover true beauty and meaning.
In her picture book “Dječak koji je propustio trenutak” (“The Boy Who Missed the Moment”), Branka addresses the issue of children spending excessive time in virtual worlds. The story follows a boy named Luka, who, after falling asleep, finds himself trapped in a game-like scenario. Guided by a little man, Luka learns new skills and life wisdom to escape the trap, highlighting the importance of experiencing real-life moments. Branka’s works aim to instil a balanced life philosophy in children, encouraging them to appreciate both the joyful and challenging moments of life. She believes that by embracing all aspects of life, one can discover true beauty and meaning.
